La Ciergerie des Prémontrés

La Ciergerie des Prémontrés, the last traditional French candle factory manufacturing handmade candles according to ancestral techniques dating back to 1858 is a French Living Heritage Brand located in Tarascon in Provence.

Being handmade a La Ciergerie des Prémontrés candle may vary in colour, size and regularity of manufacture, they will never be identical to one another, making each one unique, not quite the same, nor quite another.

Thanks to the traditional way they are made they have an exceptional wax density, 3 to 5 times longer life than industrial candles, with an intense and lively light. To obtain the pastel shades, colour pigments are thrown in a fine rain into the molten wax and swirled repeatedly.

The workshop is run by four master candle makers, who perpetuate the excellence of candles that do not drip or give off black smoke excel in the candle making technique known as “à la louche"
