French brocantes, the history of

French brocantes are fabulous! They are usually outdoor events during the Spring and Summer months whereby a brocanteur (antique dealer or junkman) sells various antique and vintage items.

It is believed the word 'brocante' derives from the Dutch word 'brok' meaning a piece or fragment.

Brocantes are also known as Puces (flea markets), which is a term that originated in Paris back in the 19th century.

When life returns to normal Maison Chérie will be selling French brocante antique and vintage finds online.
